Details and Pricing

Learning Assessment

This will generally consist of a 1 1/2 hour cognitive assessment (WISC-V) and a 1 1/2 hour academic assessment (WIAT-III) completed over two sessions. If there is concern about reading ability a test of phonological awareness may also be required.

The WISC-V is used to measure intellectual ability (IQ) and five cognitive domains that impact performance in children aged 6 years to 16 years. It can be used to diagnose intellectual disability or giftedness, and gives a picture of the child's strengths and weakness across key areas; verbal comprehension, visual spatial, fluid reasoning, working memory, and processing speed.

The WIAT III is a standardised academic achievement test which measures knowledge in reading, written language, oral language, and mathematics. This shows a child's current levels compared to others their age, and is used in conjunction with the WISC-V to diagnose specific learning disabilities if present.

A report will be provided containing results from the assessments, explanation of analysis, diagnosis if relevant, and recommendations to support the child's specific learning style in the future.

Time required: 3-4 hours testing plus 6-8 hours analysis and report writing.
